Abstract
Objective::
The purpose of this study was to determine if acupuncture started on day 5 of the cycle and performed twice a week until two weeks after oocyte retrieval could improve PRs.
Results:
There were 32 matched pairs evaluated. The mean age for those receiving acupuncture was 37.9 vs. 36.7 for the controls. Ultrasound evidence of pregnancy was found in 13 women receiving acupuncture (40.6%) vs. 17 (53.1%) in the controls (p=NS, chi-square analysis). Ongoing (viable past the first trimester) or delivered pregnancies were found in 12 receiving acupuncture (37.5%) vs. 14 (43.7%) in controls (p=NS).
